Wales hero’s Cruyff-inspired moment of magic



fifa.noJSVideoMessage Football is a game that often rewards instinct. Wales striker Hal Robson-Kanu"s goal against Belgium in the quarter-finals of UEFA EURO 2016 was one of the stand-out examples of this in 2016.
With his side level with the Belgians at 1-1 in the 55th minute, and chasing a a place in the semi-finals of a major international tournament for the first time, Kanu received Aaron Ramsey"s dinked cross standing on the penalty spot with his back to goal. He took a touch away from goal with his right foot before executing a brilliant Cruyff turn with his left foot, wrong-footing Thomas Meunier, Marouane Fellaini and Jason Denayer, and creating ample space to shoot past Thibaut Courtois and set up a famous Welsh victory.
