The countdown continues: one week to go



© FIFA.com Today marks exactly one week until the footballing world turns its attention to Zurich, as the curtain rises on The Best FIFA Football Awards™ ceremony. This milestone provides an ideal opportunity for FIFA.com to start the week by looking at the candidates for the 2016 The Best FIFA Men’s Coach Award.

2 women have reached the FIFA Puskás Award final three, with Venezuelan sensation Daniuska Rodriguez joining Stephanie Roche, nominated for the 2014 award, in representing the women’s game with distinction. Roche was catapulted to global superstardom, with her effort shortlisted alongside goals from the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ by eventual winner James Rodriguez and Robin van Persie, finishing second between the pair.

2018 FIFA World Cup Countdown clock unveiled in Kazan



© Getty Images Kazan is currently relishing in the excitement of the festivals of football set to come to the Tatarstan capital in 2017 and 2018 even more than usual, with the city is beautifully dressed in the FIFA Confederations Cup™ official look ahead of the Official Draw. And now, Kazan has got a new symbol to help channel that anticipation.
The Bud Alcohol Free Countdown clock have been unveiled in the city centre, on the Kremlevskaya Embankment, near the its greatest sight – the Kremin. From now on, Kazan’s citizens and guests promenading along the picturesque Volga embankment can learn the time until the city’s first 2018 FIFA World Cup™ match.
“The whole planet is counting the days to the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and now the Republic of Tatarstan can do that in a very special manner.
