Boris Johnson meets Donald Trump"s team in New York

Boris Johnson met Mr Trump"s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and Steve Bannon, the US president-elect"s strategist.
It was the first formal face-to-face meeting between members of the incoming US administration and a UK minister.
Officials said they discussed US foreign policy towards Syria, China and Russia.
On Monday Mr Johnson will be in the capital, Washington DC, to meet key congressional leaders.
However, he will not meet his future opposite number Rex Tillerson.
Protocol says that cannot happen until the businessman is confirmed as secretary of state.
Mr Johnson"s visit comes hours after Mr Trump tweeted he is “very much” looking forward to meeting Theresa May in the spring.

Boris Johnson is expected to meet Mr Trump"s son-in-law Jared Kuchner and Steve Bannon, the US president-elect"s strategist.

He said they had “failed” to uphold “humanitarian law” by not helping aid get to Aleppo when it was under siege.
Nearly 1,000 people have been evacuated from the city.
Theresa May said President Assad, Russia and Iran “bear responsibility for the tragedy in Aleppo”, adding that the UK would provide £20m in aid.
Syrian government forces took nearly all remaining rebel-held parts of Aleppo this week after a four-year battle.
Mr Johnson, who met Russian ambassador Alexander Yakovenko and Iran"s Hamid Baedinejad separately on Thursday afternoon, said he had conveyed the UK government"s “profound concern over the situation in Aleppo”.
