Coolpad Conjr is an affordable metal phone with a great camera and terrible chipset



Coolpad released an oddball phone – the Conjr. It’s a $180 phone that offers some really top notch specs but a strange choice of chipset derails the whole thing.
The Coolpad Conjr has a sleek metal body with 2.5D glass on the front (70.6% screen-to-body ratio). The screen, by the way, is a 5” IPS LCD of 720p resolution.
Its camera department is particularly impressive, the main camera has a 13MP sensor and OIS, while the selfie cam has an 8MP sensor. Both cameras have LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. There’s even a fingerprint reader on the back.
And here’s where it goes wrong – the Conjr has a quad-core processor (Cortex-A53) clocked at a mere 1GHz. That’s it! And it can’t even record 1080p video, capping the camera at 720p. There’s plenty of RAM – 3GB! – but that feels like too much for a lowly CPU like that.

Coolpad and LeEco just launched the Cool1 in India



If you have been keeping close tabs on the Chinese mobile market lately, then you might have heard about the LeEco Cool 1 Dual. The handset was developed as a joint venture between LeEco and its now subsidiary Coolpad and unveiled in August.
Today the pair announced the handset"s launch in India with a suggested price tag of INR 13,999 or around $205. For that you get a 5.5-inch FullHD IPS display, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and the Snapdragon 652 SoC.
The camera department has a 13MP main shooter to offer, complete with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, a dual-tone LED flash and capable of recording up to 4K video. The selfies are covered by an 8MP camera, with f/2.2 aperture and a wide 80-degree lens.

Coolpad launches Note 3S and Mega 3 in India



Coolpad has launched two new budget smartphones in India, the made for India Coolpad Note 3S and the triple-SIM Coolpad Mega 3.
The Coolpad Note 3S has a 5.5-inch 720p display with 2.5D glass, Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage, 13 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front camera, dual SIM, fingerprint sensor, 2500mAh battery, and Android 6.0 with Cool UI 8.0.
The Coolpad Mega 3 has a 5.5-inch 720p display, MediaTek MT6737 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage, 8 megapixel front and rear cameras, triple SIM support, 3050mAh battery, and Android 6.0.
Coolpad has collaborated with Reliance for customers to get a Jio SIM card with every purchase.
The Coolpad Note 3S is priced at INR 9,999 ($146) and the Coolpad Mega 3 at INR 6,999 ($102) and will be available exclusively on Amazon.

Coolpad has launched its second phone in the new Cool brand made with LeEco, the Cool Changer 1C.
The Cool Changer 1C has a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 652, 3GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage, 13 megapixel rear camera, 8 megapixel front camera, fingerprint sensor, and 4060mAh battery. The phone runs on the LeEco eUI.
The phone will be available in China for 899 yuan ($130). It"s available for registration on LeMall website and will go on sale on December 5.
