© Getty Images Germany completed a perfect Group D campaign with a comfortable 2-0 win over Korea Republic at the Sir John Guise Stadium in Port Moresby.
The three-time FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup champions needed just a point to lock up top spot, and they were sitting pretty at half-time thanks to goals from Dina Orschmann and Stefanie Sanders.
Orschmann netted one of the goals of the tournament on 13 minutes when she slalomed past a couple of defenders before curling the ball into the far corner from a 45-degree angle.
Sanders soon got in on the act, converting from close-range after a fine run down the left and cross from Anna Gerhardt.
Sanders could have put the game out of sight within a matter of moments, only for her breakaway run to end with a shot against the crossbar under pressure from a host of retreating Korean defenders.
