Earlier we told you about a record number of orders for Alexa devices that got the smart speaker out of stock until mid-January. In a message to media Amazon stated that speakers sold nine times faster than during the 2015 holiday season.
Since no one expected such interest to speakers, most retailers decided not to risk with overstocking and apparently they failed in their prediction. Hopefully supply will catch up early into 2017.

Amazon sold out all its voice-activated Echo speakers, reported Bloomberg earlier. The $179.99 Echo ($139.99 holiday price) will be available for purchase in January and it’s smaller variation Echo Dot will be available for $39.99 just after Christmas.
