Samsung Galaxy Note5 starts getting December security patch

Samsung has started pushing out a new update to its Galaxy Note5 smartphone. Weighing in at around 295MB and currently hitting units in India, the update brings along Android security fixes for the month of December.
It isn"t yet known what other changes (if at all) are included in the update. Given that the update has just started rolling out, it may take some time to hit your device. Meanwhile, if you feel impatient, you can manually check for it by heading to your phone"s Settings menu.

No, the calendar isn"t lying to you, it is December. That said, Samsung has always released security updates for its older devices with some delay compared to its latest and greatest, and this time around the situation is no different. Following the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, which both got it last month, and the S6 and S6 edge, which received it a few days ago, T-Mobile"s Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ are now finally being graced with the November security update too.
The build is DPK6 for both devices, and it"s currently in the process of rolling out over-the-air. As such, you"ll see an update notification when the new software is ready to be downloaded and installed onto your handset. As usual, this might take a few days, as the rollout is going out in stages. New Samsung Galaxy Note5 update brings Note7"s Grace UX

Samsung has started rolling out a new update to its Galaxy Note5 smartphone from last year. The update, among other changes, brings the Grace user interface, which made its debut on the ill-fated Galaxy Note7, and will probably also arrive on the S7 series with the Nougat update .
Currently, only South Korean Galaxy Note5 units that are on the Korea Telecom"s network are getting the update, which arrives as firmware version KKU2CPI1, and is based on Android Marshmallow version 6.0.1.
