Lately more and more device makers have started taking Android security patches seriously, deploying them only a few weeks after Google releases them, and making them available for at least their high-end handsets. To drive that point home, today Verizon has started sending out over-the-air updates for a whopping 11 Android smartphones.
All of the updates contain nothing more than the latest security patches, but this is quite a feat – owners of these 11 devices will be up to date in terms of security fixes after installing the new software.
The phones in question are the HTC 10, Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Force Droid, Moto Z Play, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Note5, Note Edge, S5, S6, S6 edge, and S6 edge+. As always, receiving the update notification on your handset may take a few days, since the over-the-air rollout is staged.
