Meizu M5S now spotted on Geekbench

After clearing TENAA and 3C, the Meizu M5S has now been spotted on Geekbench. The benchmark listing reveals that the device is powered by a MediaTek MT6753 chipset with octa-core 1.3GHz processor, and has 2GB memory.
The listing also reveals that the device runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. If you compare, all these specs are inline with what TENAA had revealed. Other key specs revealed by the Chinese agency include a 5.2-inch HD screen, 3GB/4GB RAM and 32/64GB storage options, 13MP/5MP camera combo, and 2,930mAh battery.

Just in: Meizu M5 Note hands-on

Twas the night before New Year’s Eve when the good guy postman came in our office with hefty package in his hands. Almost like Santa he brought us a few gifts for being good kids throughout the year.
We unpacked it and there it was – Meizu M5 Note in all its pearl white beauty (or silver, as is officially named). It looks attractive with its metallic body and 2.5D glass but the front doesn’t feel or look as good as the back.
M5 Note is supposed to be the bigger and more powerful brother of M5 but with its 5.5” display (while the latter is 5.2”) the size is not really a wow factor while comparing devices. It is easy to handle mostly because the metallic body we already told you about. But enough about the looks. Let’s see what is going on underneath the unibody.
The 5.5” display is IPS LCD with FullHD resolution. The device runs on MediaTek’s octa-core Helio P10 which was also the CPU in one of M5 Note’s predecessors – the Meizu M3 Note.

Just in: Meizu M5 hands-on

A crate arrived at our doorstep the other day chock-full of Meizus. Naturally, we all flocked around the Pro 6 Plus flagship and we already shared our initial thoughts about it, but it is this M5 here that will be outselling the top model who knows how many times – its price starts at CNY 699 or just $100.
The M5 is the successor to the M3, and you may wonder what happened to the 4 in that sequence. Well, 4 is considered an unlucky number in Chinese culture, so as is often the case in product lineups (Wikipedia tells us), Meizu skipped it.
The M5 is not unlike the M3, by the way. That"s a roundabout way of saying it"s actually more or less the same phone with just a few differences – the most obvious one being the 5.2-inch display. So far the base M-series models have always had 5-inch screen, but this forth-gen Meilan (as it"s also known) bumps the diagonal a little. Resolution remains 720×1,280 pixels.

Mysterious Meizu press renders surface online

As per a few recent and rather interesting leaks, Meizu has a few intriguing devices already in the works and a slew of announcements allegedly planned for 2017. Considering all this, it is hardly surprising that a new and mysterious device has now been brought to our attention with a pair of official-looking renders.
Sadly, the source shares little about the actual model, and its hardware and is a bit less reputable than we would have liked, but we will give it the benefit of the doubt. What we do know is that the alleged device should come out next year, withing the budget Blue Charm or “M” line. It is said to have a 5-inch display and a familiar Meizu aesthetic. An interesting feature worth noting is the front-facing flash, supporting what is believed to be a 5MP camera.

The Meizu Pro 6 was less from the flagship phone I expected. It was an ill-focused combination of high-end features with second-rate hardware, and despite the force touch gimmickry, the Pro 6 couldn"t achieve its Pro 5 predecessor coolness.
Eventually, Meizu understood it made some bad decisions down the road and tried to make up for those with the Pro 6s and Pro 6 Plus. Although the Pro 6s shrank the size, and returned to the Super AMOLED screen, it continued to stick to the controversial MediaTek chipset.

Meizu"s 2017 roadmap purportedly leaks

A new leak from China today claims to show us Meizu"s smartphone launch roadmap for 2017. The image you can see below is said to depict an internal document from the Chinese company, neatly detailing every single smartphone it plans to launch next year, along with the month of its introduction and the chipset used.
So let"s dive in. The first announcement is coming in February, when the M5S is reportedly coming, powered by MediaTek"s MT6753 SoC. The M5 has the MT6750, so this isn"t surprising.
Next up, in June the Meizu Pro 7 will arrive with the Helio X30 chip on board. Then in July the Blue Charm S (or MS) will be launched sporting the Helio P25. In September we"ll get the MX7 with a Helio P30, while the M6 Note (or Blue Charm Note 6) lands in October with a Helio P20. Finally, in December of next year Meizu will announce a new member of the Blue Charm / M series, which will be powered by Qualcomm"s Snapdragon 626 chipset.

Meizu "Legent" flagship leaks, specs revealed as well

An upcoming Meizu flagship smartphone, dubbed Legent, has surfaced online. The leak, which came in the form of a Weibo post, shows some sketches of the device and reveals its key specifications.
The post shows a physical home button on the front, which will presumably embed a fingerprint sensor. More interestingly, it also reveals what appears to be a reversible camera module.
The phone will allegedly be powered by Samsung Exynos 8893 chipset and sport a 5.7-inch QHD display. RAM is 6GB, while storage options include 64GB and 128GB. In terms of camera, the Legent features a single 16MP unit tjat works both ways.

Meizu M5S with octa-core CPU and 4GB RAM clears TENAA and 3C

A new Meizu smartphone has cleared TENAA. Spotted in two different listings – as M612Q and M612M – that reveal exactly same specifications, the device is said to be the Meizu M5S.
The phone is powered by an octa-core 1.3GHz processor, and sports a 5.2-inch HD screen. RAM options include 2/3/4GB, while internal memory options include 16/32/64GB. In terms of camera, the handset features a 13MP rear unit and a 5MP front shooter.

New Meizu smartphone leaks, specs tipped as well

A new Meizu smartphone has leaked online. Allegedly code-named "1206," the device – as revealed by the leaked images, which show both black and white colored variants – sports a curved display.

Meizu takes the wrapper off Flyme OS 6

Just as previously promised, Meizu held a conference today and announced a pair of new devices. The Chinese OEM also officially released the new 6th version of its Flyme OS.
That all sounds great, however, there is still shockingly little info on the new software. Even the basics, like the underlying Android version are still unclear. However, judging by the “Make 6 great again” slogan and a few leaked screenshots, we can only assume Marshmallow is running under the hood.
What we do know, however, is that Flyme OS 6 comes with a refreshed aesthetic, that users will be able to experience first-hand on the new Pro 6 Plus and M3X handsets. The update will be coming to some existing Meizu devices as well. The OEM just tweeted a full list of supported devices, which will coincide with the models eligible for the public release as well.

Meizu Pro 6 Plus and M3X unveiled: 12MP Sony camera, Flyme 6

Meizu unveiled both the Pro 6 Plus and the Meizu M3X – a flagship and an upscale mid-ranger, both running the new Flyme 6.0.
Meizu Pro 6 Plus Bigger than both the Pro 6 and 6s, the Meizu Pro 6 Plus is like a Galaxy S7 that Samsung never gave us. Meizu crafted a metal body and filled it with 5.7 inches of flat Super AMOLED goodness – complete with QHD resolution (1,440 x 2,560px) and Always On functionality. It aims for 430nits of brightness and is pressure sensitive (Meizu calls it 3D Press) to boot!
All this requires plenty of power, so the phone uses the Exynos 8890 (same as S7 and S7 edge). There are two versions – 64GB and 128GB – which have different clockspeeds for the processor (2GHz and 2.3GHz respectively). Note that this is fast UFS 2.0 storage and in both cases you get 4GB of RAM.

If you recall, Meizu recently confirmed that it"ll be unveiling a new smartphone on December 6 – the m5 Note. However, if reports out of the company"s home country of China are to go by, there will be another Meizu product that will be made official on that day.
The firm is said to unveil a smartband, dubbed H1 SmartBand. Following are some of its leaked pictures:
Functionality-wise, the H1 SmartBand is like any other fitness band (telling time, counting steps, and measuring user"s heart rate), but – according to Meizu – it"s the battery life that differentiates this band from others.
The device reportedly uses contact charging, and carries a price tag of RMB 229, which translates into around $33 at current exchange rates.

More Meizu X renders leak, showing off device"s front this time

Just yesterday, we saw a Meizu X render that partially revealed the back of the device. And today, a couple of new renders alleged to be of the handset have leaked, showing off the front of the phone this time.
Here"s the first render:
The second render doesn"t reveal much. It"d have revealed some useful information (presumably the device"s specifications), but – as you can see in the render below – a lot of area in the image has been blurred, leaving almost everything to imagination.
Specs-wise, the Meizu X is rumored to be powered by a new Helio X30 chip manufactured by the premium 10nm process. The device is expected to be made official next week – November 30 to be precise.

Meizu Pro 7 leaks in new images, has a capacitive Home key

The Meizu Pro 7 has leaked numerous times throughout the past few months but instead of making it official, Meizu has released the Pro 6s instead. While previous reports put the Pro 7 on track for a Christmas release, company"s VP officially pushed back the flagship release for 2017.
Once rumored to run on the latest-gen Exynos chip, the Pro 7 is now said to come with the new Kirin 960 chipset found in the Mate 9 series. It should look a lot like the Galaxy S7 edge thanks to the curved (which would mean AMOLED) screen, while it"s back is all metal with the new subtle antenna design first seen on the Pro 6.

Today we saw the Meizu Pro 7 flagship leak, but the Meizu news for the day are far from over.
Meizu has just shared the announcement date and some teasers about its upcoming Flyme 6 OS based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The premiere will happen on November 30 at a special Meizu tech event.
There are quite a few teasers available on Weibo, but nothing really revealing about the upcoming Flyme 6 OS. The only thing we know is the event"s slogan – Make 6 Great Again. Again, really?
We"ll know more in a week though, so the wait is almost over.
Now that we know for sure the Pro 7 will premiere next year, we all thought Meizu X will be the star at the event next week.
