New Xiaomi phone leaks in live images

Live images of a new Xiaomi phone have been spotted. The leak – which came in the form of a Weibo post – reveals both front as well as back of the silver-colored variant of the handset.
The device is said to be the Redmi Note 4X. However, the design revealed by these images is different from what we saw at TENAA late last month. Following are the images that were revealed by the Chinese certification agency.
Clearly, the position of the fingerprint sensor is different, and not to mention the physical home button – where the sensor is expected to be embedded – is a new addition as well.
While the TENAA listing also doesn"t explicitly contain the name "Redmi Note 4X," some of the specs it revealed are inline with what earlier rumors had said about the device. So the newly leaked images are likely of a different handset, but we are yet to learn its name.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is shown in more colors: green, purple, and pink

There"s a game Samsung usually likes to play, and it"s called "launch more color versions for a device once it"s been out for a few months". Now it looks like Xiaomi felt inspired by this strategy and decided it was time to apply it too. First we saw the white Mi Mix yesterday, and now the Chinese company is showing three new colors for its Mi Note 2 flagship phablet at CES, ones never before seen for the handset that launched in black, gold, and silver.
At some point in the (hopefully near) future you"ll be able to purchase a Mi Note 2 in green, pink, and purple too. We assume that the new colors will be limited to the Chinese market, at least at first, but perhaps they will eventually launch elsewhere.
Unlike pink, which is a pretty common sight (definitely more so on some continents than others though), it"s not every day that you get to see a green smartphone. Or a purple one, for that matter. So from this point of view the new color versions do..

Xiaomi Mi 6 runs AnTuTu, allegedly scores record-breaking 210,329 points

Xiaomi"s Mi 6 is supposedly going to be the first smartphone made by a Chinese company to sport Qualcomm"s Snapdragon 835 chipset, which was just detailed at CES. The next non-phablet Xiaomi flagship device will reportedly look like a smaller Mi Note 2, while its official announcement could take place on February 6. Sales probably won"t start earlier than March, however. But what about its performance?
Well, today a Weibo user in China claims to have gotten access to a screenshot showing the AnTuTu benchmark score for a prototype Mi 6, shared by a friend who has the handset. Here it is:
If this is true (and that"s a big “if” at this point), it means that the Mi 6 is already, without even having launched, the king of AnTuTu. That 210,329 score in fact broke the earlier record set by the iPhone 7 Plus at 183,106. Clearly then, the Mi 6 (and the Snapdragon 835 powering it) will be a beast in terms of raw performance.
The best AnTuTu score for a phone powered by the ..

Xiaomi announces white Mi Mix at CES, still China-only

Just as leaked, rumored, and hinted at by the company"s own teasers over the past few days, today during its CES press conference Xiaomi has made the white version of the Mi Mix official. This has a pearl-like finish, according to Xiaomi VP Hugo Barra, who was on stage to introduce it to the world.
The specs stay the same as for the initially revealed black model, as you"d expect. Unfortunately the white Mi Mix, like the black one, will only be sold in China. An actual release date hasn"t been mentioned.
Despite what many had been hoping, Xiaomi still hasn"t announced its international expansion into what are usually called "developed markets". So don"t expect to officially buy Xiaomi smartphones in the US, Canada, or Western Europe anytime soon. As for the Mi Mix, it was perhaps the most intriguing device of 2016 (unless you count the Galaxy Note7"s propensity to catch fire), but it was launched as a concept with limited production capacity an..

Xiaomi will livestream its first ever CES event, watch it here

Xiaomi’s conquest west continues and in just a few hours we’ll witness the first ever CES event from the young company. Tantalizingly, the CES page on Mi.com promises a “2017 CES Mi Product Launch.” The event starts at 7PM GMT and it will be broadcast live on YouTube.
Here’s the thing though, the new product may prove to be a coat of paint – a teaser image published a few days ago hinted at a White version of the Xiaomi Mi Mix. Not that we’re complaining, the Mix is one of our very favorite phones of 2016 and it could look cool in white.
Xiaomi posts clues on Twitter
Better yet, an announcement at CES might mean that Xiaomi will offer the Mi Mix in the US through official means. That"s more wishful thinking than actual possibility though as Xiaomi is yet to release any phones in the US, much less one that"s been explicitly confirmed as a China-exclusive.
Additional teasers from Xiaomi hint at fitness trackers – a new band, perhaps, or the Amazfit landing in the US?

White Xiaomi Mi Mix could be unveiled at CES 2017

The white colored variant of the Xiaomi Mi Mix, which first leaked back in November last year, could be officially unveiled at this year"s Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Or at least that"s what a recently outed teaser would have us believe.
While the teaser itself doesn"t explicitly say anything, the word WHITE is mixed with BLACK (WBHLIATCEK) and the mention of CES 2017 seems like a clear hint. In case you aren"t aware, the Mi Mix is currently only available in black color.
It"s worth mentioning that the white variant was recently spotted at a Chinese online store as well, although it wasn"t up on sale then.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 vs. Samsung Galaxy S7 edge: Bargain bin

Cheaper, but just as good? A third installment is due in our Bargain bin series that aims to establish whether you"re better off shelling top-dollar for a current big-name flagship or you"d be just as fine saving a few notes and opting for a more affordable alternative. This time, it"s a rather specific match-up that doesn"t quite live up to the "half-price" label, but there still is a considerable price difference, and it makes sense on another level.
Meet the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. We came up with this one while scrolling through Chinese online retailers (like we usually do in our spare time, what do you mean not everyone does it?!), and realized that not only can the Galaxy S7 edge be quite expensive there, but also its prices vary wildly between sellers, color options, moon phase, and whatnot.
We found out that you can get an S7 edge for CNY 4,800 ($660) if you"re not after one of the fancier color options. The Mi Note ..

Xiaomi Mi 6 to look like smaller version of Mi Note 2, new rumor says

The Xiaomi Mi 6 might only been the subject of a handful of rumors and leaks so far, but thanks to a leak back in October this year, we at-least got to see what it may look like:
However, if a new rumor out of China is to go by, the handset may actually look like the Chinese company"s Mi Note 2 smartphone, although a bit smaller in size.
Moving on, the new rumor – which is said to come from a renowned Chinese tipster – also says that the device will be powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC and made official in February 2017, which is thankfully inline with what we"ve previously heard.
Further, the tipster also reveals that the device will have 128GB and 256GB storage options, and black, white, and blue color options. Like the leak from October, there"s no way to confirm whether or not what the new rumor has revealed is correct. So, take all this with a pinch of salt.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X is now TENAA certified

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X just can"t get enough spotlight today, as TENAA just approved its certification in China. Earlier, an alleged photo of the phone leaked revealing its software version, RAM, storage and CPU clock speed.
TENAA reveals that the phone will rock 4GB of RAM and will be available in 32GB and 64GB storage options. The certification agency photos show that the Note 4X will look very similarly to the Note 4.
The similarities continue on the inside, too. The Redmi Note 4X will feature a Mediatek Helio X20 chip, 13MP main camera and a 4,100mAh battery. It"s probable that a Snapdragon 653 version of the phone will also be available, despite skepticism from analysts. Nevertheless, the latest evidence suggests otherwise.

Xiaomi Mi 6 is now said to become official on February 6, out in March

Yesterday a few different reports originating in China brought us some conflicting information regarding Xiaomi"s upcoming Mi 6, and more specifically when we can expect it to launch. One source was convinced the announcement would take place on February 14, while others disputed that claiming it was delayed to April.
And now here we are one day later when yet another date is being mentioned in the rumors. Xiaomi is now said to unveil the Mi 6 at a special event on February 6 (what a fitting date), with sales scheduled to begin at some point in March.
The previous reports that spoke about a delay to April claimed that had to do with Samsung not being able to produce enough Snapdragon 835 chipsets for Qualcomm. As this is the SoC that"s going to be in the Mi 6 (and the Galaxy S8 too), you can see how low yields on its production could result in delays for smartphones sporting it.
However, today another Chinese analyst chimed in on Weibo saying that the yield issues aren&#03..
