OnePlus 3 and 3T getting new OxygenOS 4.0.1 update

OnePlus has started rolling out a new update to its OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones. Arriving as OxygenOS 4.0.1, it"s a Nougat-based update that brings along several changes, including workarounds to the Play Store downloads problem.
If you"re not able to download apps from Google Play, OnePlus is suggesting several workarounds, including following Google’s troubleshooting steps, turning on Battery Saving Mode and resetting Play Store app preferences, or force stopping/uninstalling these apps: Truecaller, AVG Antivirus, and PayTm.
“If you are trying to download via Data Roaming, it will not work. This is a known Google issue,” the change-log for the update says.
Those experiencing mobile data issues caused by APN are advised to go to the APN settings page and manually choose try all the options. The change-log also says that “WiFi connectivity might still fluctuate.”

Soft Gold OnePlus 3T goes on sale internationally on January 6

The OnePlus 3T has so far only been available in the Gunmetal color scheme, but a Soft Gold model was promised during its announcement. Last month we found out that the gold iteration would become available in India from January 5, so we"ve obviously been wondering what its status is in other markets. And today the Chinese company has finally cleared up the mystery.
The Soft Gold variation of the OnePlus 3T will be up for grabs elsewhere, from the official online store, on January 6. In North America sales will start at 7 PM PST / 10 PM EST. In Europe you can order yours starting at 9 AM GMT / 10 AM CET on the same day.
The Soft Gold OnePlus 3T will only come with 64GB of storage, the 128GB option isn"t going to be out for this hue. Pricing is as follows: $439 in the US, CAD 599 in Canada, £399 in the UK, and €439 in the rest of Europe. As you"d expect, spec-wise the gold 3T is identical to the silver one, with the coat of paint being the only difference.

OnePlus announced it will open an experience store on Brigade Road in Bengaluru with a blog post on its website.
The company is selling its products in India exclusively on Amazon but looks like it"s ready to go offline with a store in the city also known as “Silicon Valley of India”. The message also says that there will be lots of surprises, many prizes and even a chance to test the popular OnePlus 3T as well as other products.
OnePlus invitation According to the announcement, the founders of the company Pete Lau and Carl Pei will also be there. OnePlus promises launch-day offers for OnePlus 3T 64GB and 128GB in Gunmetal and OnePlus 3T 64 GB but is not clarifying what exactly will be the offer.

New OnePlus 2 update fixes network drop issue

Last week, the OnePlus 2 received an update in the form of OxygenOS 3.5.5. Shortly after the update started hitting units, users started complaining about their phone dropping network signal frequently. This lead to the company pulling that update.

OnePlus has promised that both the OnePlus 3T and the older 3 will get final, stable updates to Android 7.0 Nougat this month. However, that now feels like it won"t actually happen. We"re three days removed from the end of the month (and the year), and the company is today releasing a new beta Nougat build for the OnePlus 3. This is the third testing iteration of the new OS version for the phone, with the previous update going out two weeks ago.
We assume OnePlus won"t then come out in the next three days with the final build, because if it does we have to wonder what the point of today"s update was. OnePlus 3T "Soft Gold" launched in India

OnePlus has announced that it will be selling the OnePlus 3T in India in the Soft Gold variant, starting January 5. The color will only be available in the 64GB variant and exclusively on Amazon.
OnePlus will first have an app-only sale on January 5, for which customers will have to register between December 28 to January 3. The open sales will start January 6 onwards, for which there is no registrations.
